San Miguel de Allende,

San
Miguel de Allende is a protected colonial town about 130 miles northwest of
Mexico City. Earliest settlements started between 1500-1600, with the bulk of
the downtown structures appearing in the late 1500s. The center of town is
dominated by a church whose appearance was changed to the gothic style, using a
postcard as reference.
The town probably has the greatest concentration of artisans and art patrons
in Mexico.
