2003 Score Baja 1000 (11-21-03)

We left for the Baja 1000 with high expectations & a very real feeling we could complete the most difficult race of the year. Our premonitions proved true, but not the way we expected. The car, in fact, ran flawlessly and made the 800 mile plus loop back to the finish line. Unfortunately, the silt beds deep south claimed about an extra five hours & forced John to call off the effort. We waited at out pit near the end of the loop until word came at three thirty AM that it was time to pack up & head home. But John received the car shortly after making the cease & desist call & drove it the final 500 miles, using the BF Goodrich as his pit support. He placed us ninth in class out of twenty four entries.
